Who we are
Doverty IT is run by Martin Doverty, based in Aberdeen and working with businesses across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Martin has over 16 years in IT, including consultancy across infrastructure, networking, security and Microsoft 365. That background means the apps we build fit properly alongside the systems your business already runs on.
Questions we get asked
Is bespoke software more expensive than off the shelf?
Not necessarily. We use modern development tools to build faster, which keeps the cost of a first version competitive. You also stop paying per-user fees, and stop paying staff to work around a tool that doesn't fit. We agree a fixed price for the build and deployment before we start. After launch there is a monthly support fee, which we quote before you sign.
Who owns the app and the data?
It's built for you alone, and your data is always yours. You can request a copy at any time. We host and maintain the software, so there's nothing for you to run.
How long does a project take?
A first working version is usually live within 2 to 4 weeks, depending on scope. After that we improve it in small steps, based on how you use it.
Who looks after the app once it's live?
We do. Every app we build comes with a monthly support plan, so it stays updated, secure and working as your business changes. The plan covers updates, fixes, hosting care and changes. We agree the monthly fee with you before launch.
